As an off-shoot to our research and testing of small scale wind power electric systems, we are forced to look at battery systems for storage and off-grid use.

This need, coupled with our search for high quality products and environmentally sensitive manufacturers, led us to East Penn Manufacturing...right in our own back yard! Now, battery manufacturers have not received high marks in the past on the basis of environmental concerns. This was a grave concern for us a we looked into wind power. How can we utilize battery banks for storage and backup, when the use and manufacture of these products have caused so much damage over the years? Well, East Penn has addressed these concerns! They recycle 100% of every used battery, 20,000 of them per day! This not only limits the impact from mining and refining lead, but also keeps these units from ending up where they do not belong, the landfill, the side of the road or that bank by the river. We, obviously, can not stock all of these but our delivery time from East Penn is very fast and we should be able to obtain your units fairly quickly. Deka offers batteries to fit any application. Many feature built in carrying handles. They manufacture maintenance free styles, absorbed glass mat sealed styles and a variety of case sizes and terminal configurations. We can also provide cable sets, connectors and copper wire. Naturally, we will be featuring Deka batteries in our wind power systems!
